How To Watch No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev and Botic Van De Zandschulp are set to face off on Wednesday in the final quarterfinal of the US Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium, with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

Zverev has had quite the year, and a US Open crown would be a great way to end 2026. The 29-year-old German, who had finished second in a Grand Slam three times, finally broke through in June with his first Major crown at the French Open. He backed that up with yet another run to the final at Wimbledon. He looks to be on the same path for the US Open. Zverev’s 50 wins are the most of any man on the ATP Tour and he’s the only man to reach at least the quarterfinals in all four Majors this season.
Zverev’s 22-2 record in the four Grand Slams this season means it will be quite an uphill battle for Botic Van De Zandschulp. While he comes in unseeded, Van De Zandschulp has made it to the US Open quarterfinals one other time in his career. He came into the US Open after a summer in which he reached the fourth round of the Montreal Open and the quarterfinals at the Winston-Salem Open.
After Zverev had to go five sets in the first two rounds of the tournament, he has won the last two matches in straight sets. It’s the exact opposite for Van De Zandschulp, who won his first two matches in straight sets and his last two in five sets. In his last match against France’s Arthur Gea, he fought off a match point and won in five hours, 13 minutes—the fourth-longest US Open match in history. Because of that, it will be interesting to see just how much gas he has in the tank.
This will be the first time that Zverev and Van De Zandschulp will face each other.
